About the speaker
Anthony (Tony) Carty is at present a Visiting Professor at Peking University. He has been a professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, Aberdeen University and a Visiting Professor in Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow and various other places. He is the author of various books on the theory of international law, such as The Decay of International Law and the Philosophy of International Law. He has recently published in Chinese a book on the History of Sovereignty in the South China Sea. He has also published a book edited with J Nijman on China's century of humiliation, Morality and Responsibility of Rulers.
