From September 3 to 4, Professor and Dean of Law School Chu Beiping and Associate Professor Zhang Jinlei were invited to attend Annual Meeting of 10th International Maritime Law Held in Swansea University. This seminar themed shipbuilding, ship sale and purchase and ship finance. More than 60 participants from UK, France, Greece, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy and China attended meeting, who including the English Lord Justice, barrister, partners at well-known law firms in London and Europe, and scholars working on maritime research of universities.

Professor Chu introduced current legal situation in financial industry of China shipbuilding and related measures of justice reform recently during the session. And Professor Chu presided over the symposium regarding “Related Legal Issues about Bareboat Charter in ship finance” on the morning of Sept 4th.

After the meeting, Professor Chu talked with Executive Director of Swansea university law school and Professor ANDREW BEALE, and Baris Soyer who acted as Director of graduate faculty and international shipping and trade legal research center. They had a in-depth discussion about further cooperation between each other.
